Plate & Shell Heat Exchanger for Steam and Glycol Heating in Meat Processing

Client: Henan Yisai Beef Co., Ltd

Meat processing operations require precise temperature control, hygienic system design, and highly reliable heating equipment to ensure product quality, food safety, and continuous production. Heating systems must operate stably under frequent load changes while meeting strict sanitary and operational standards.

For this project, a plate & shell heat exchanger was supplied to Henan Yisai Beef Co., Ltd for steam and ethylene glycol heat transfer in a meat processing facility. The exchanger is designed to provide controlled and uniform heat delivery for process heating applications, supporting stable operation across varying production conditions.
The fully welded plate & shell construction offers a robust, gasket-free pressure boundary suitable for steam service. By eliminating elastomeric gaskets, the design reduces leakage risk and enhances long-term reliability under repeated thermal cycling and continuous operation—key requirements in food processing environments.
Chevron-pattern plate geometry creates strong turbulence on both the steam and glycol sides, delivering high heat transfer efficiency and rapid thermal response. This enables accurate temperature regulation of glycol circuits, helping maintain consistent process temperatures and supporting hygienic production conditions.
Compared with conventional shell-and-tube heaters, the plate & shell design provides a more compact footprint, higher thermal efficiency, and reduced maintenance requirements. As a result, the plate & shell heat exchanger delivers a reliable, energy-efficient, and hygienic heating solution for steam and glycol systems in modern meat processing facilities.
