Welded Plate & Shell Heat Exchanger for Methanol Condensation

Client: Jiangsu XX Biological Products Co., Ltd

Chemical processing frequently involves the condensation and subcooling of volatile media, where stable heat transfer performance, tight containment, and operational safety are essential. Heat exchangers used for such duties must handle phase change efficiently while maintaining reliable operation under continuous service.
For this project, a welded plate & shell heat exchanger was delivered to Jiangsu XX Biological Products Co., Ltd for methanol condensation and subcooling. The exchanger is designed to provide efficient phase-change heat transfer, supporting improved process stability and energy utilization in chemical production. subcooled methanol steam at 64 ℃ to 40 ℃, Design pressure 1.0MPA,
The fully welded plate & shell construction forms a high-integrity, gasket-free pressure boundary, minimizing leakage risk when handling volatile and flammable media such as methanol. This design enhances operational safety and ensures long-term reliability under sustained thermal and pressure loads.
Chevron-pattern plate geometry promotes strong turbulence and uniform flow distribution, resulting in high condensation heat transfer coefficients and stable subcooling performance. This enables effective recovery of latent heat while maintaining precise temperature control across varying operating conditions.
Compared with conventional shell-and-tube condensers, the welded plate & shell design delivers higher thermal efficiency within a more compact footprint, while maintaining excellent mechanical strength. As a result, it provides a reliable, efficient, and process-optimized solution for methanol condensation and subcooling in modern chemical and biochemical production facilities.
